The organizing committee of the 2021 World Internet of Things Expo held a press conference on the 15th, announcing that the 2021 World Internet of Things Expo will be held in Wuxi from September 3rd to 6th. Nearly 30 featured activities, including 1 summit, 1 exhibition, 1 achievement conference, 10 summit forums and 16 series of activities, will once again be branded as "Taihu Seal" on the world Internet of Things map.

Zhang Lefu, Deputy Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, introduced that the 2021 World Internet of Things Expo was hosted by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province, and undertaken by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Wuxi Municipal People’s Government. With the theme of "Everything in Zhilian leads the future", this year’s Expo will hold a summit, an exhibition of Internet of Things applications and products, a press conference on new technologies, new products and new applications of Internet of Things, 10 summit forums and 16 series of activities. International Telecommunication Union (ITU), International Pattern Recognition Society (IAPR), China Electronics and Information Industry Development Research Institute, China Information and Communication Research Institute, China Industrial Internet Research Institute, china computer federation, China Institute of Electronics, China Big Data and Intelligent Computing Industry Alliance and other well-known enterprises such as aerospace science and technology, CLP, four major operators, Huawei, ZTE, Inspur, Haier and Vision will participate in the exhibition.

According to reports, compared with previous sessions, this year’s Expo will pay more attention to digitalization, experience and industrialization, and its professionalism and trading will be more prominent.

Wuxi Summit of the World Internet of Things will be held in Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center on September 4th. At that time, leaders of relevant state ministries and commissions, leaders of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, senior executives of well-known enterprises at home and abroad, experts and academicians will exchange ideas, contribute ideas, build consensus, discuss the development plan of the Internet of Things and draw broad prospects for the Internet of Things.

As the highlight of the Expo, the Internet of Things application and product exhibition will be held for 4 days, with an exhibition area of 50,000 square meters. Six exhibition infield, one exhibition outfield and one main peak hall will be set up to show the latest scientific and technological achievements and applications in the field of Internet of Things according to the themes of 5G and Internet of Things communication, intelligent sensing and industrial Internet, smart city and Internet of Things solutions, smart life and car networking, smart education and 5G virtual reality experience. In addition to offline exhibitions, this year’s Expo will also build a digital cloud exhibition platform, and use 3D, 720 panoramic rendering and other means to realize the "24×365" all-weather online display of the physical exhibition hall, smart factory and major IoT application demonstration scenes in a "digital twin" way to create a never-ending Expo.

The launch conference of new technologies, new products and new applications of the Internet of Things will be presented at the Expo in the form of "Night of the Internet of Things". This year’s "three new" selection will invite more than 30 well-known industry experts, including Academician He Hequan and Academician Ni Guangnan, to participate in the evaluation, and strive to gather and showcase the latest achievements in the global Internet of Things field. At present, the results collection activities have been fully launched.

According to reports, Jiangsu is a highland for the development of the Internet of Things in China, and the industrial cluster of the Internet of Things is strong. With Wuxi as the core and Suzhou and Nanjing as the support, the industrial layout of Jiangsu with one body and two wings has been formed, covering perception, network communication, processing and application, key commonness and basic support, and the industrial scale has maintained rapid growth for many years. In 2020, the province’s Internet of Things business revenue will exceed 650 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of over 18% during the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan period. The leading domestic Internet of Things technology innovation pioneer zone, industrial development cluster zone and application demonstration pioneer zone have been initially established. Among them, Wuxi Internet of Things Cluster scored high in the first batch of national advanced manufacturing industrial clusters. It is the first prefecture-level city with narrow-band Internet of Things coverage and the only Asian city selected for the "IEEE Smart City Pilot Program". In 2018, Wuxi was selected as one of the "Top 20 Smart Cities in the World" with the first place in the country. In 2019, it was approved as the first national-level vehicle networking pilot area, and in 2020, it was selected as a national comprehensive information consumption demonstration city. This year, it was successfully selected as the first batch of pilot cities for the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent networked vehicles, becoming the only prefecture-level city in China.

Since the World Internet of Things Expo was held in Wuxi in 2016, it has been successfully held for five consecutive times. More than 50 countries and regions have participated in the Expo, and the number of participants has exceeded 1.1 million, with nearly 800 major projects. The investment in the field of animal networking has exceeded 200 billion yuan, and it has gradually become the most famous and influential professional event in the field of Internet of Things in the world.
