Adapted from Jason Matthews’ novel of the same name, The Red Sparrow tells the story of a contemporary Russian beauty spy, Dominika Egorova, who was reluctantly trained as a "sparrow" by the KGB, and then sent to seduce a CIA agent, Nathaniel Nash, in order to obtain a list of American spies who penetrated into Russia.

It is reported that The Red Sparrow will be directed by Francis Lawrence, the second and third director of the series, and the script will be written by Justin Haythe. Jennifer lawrence will play Egorova, a Russian female agent, and joel edgerton has previously confirmed to join, and her role is unknown.

Matthias schoenaerts and Jeremy Irons have been seeing each other recently. Sunell has done well in tom hopper’s film, and will co-star in the Netflix film Soul of the Night with robert redford and jane fonda in the near future. In appearance, Sunell is somewhat similar to Putin. Perhaps Sunell’s role in The Red Sparrow is the Russian president.
